چکیده
pentachlorophenol (pcp) is a very hazardous compound which enters into the environment byindustries such as refineries and petrochemicals. as its biological degradation is very slow, this usemay cause the pollution of soils and groundwater; with the recent emergence of pentachlorophenolcontamination as an important drinking water quality issue, finding an easy, economical, and usefulmethod to remove it has been attracted interest. in this study, the performance of an electro-fentonprocess (efp) for the elimination of pcp from an aquatic environment was evaluated. the effects ofimportant operational variables such as reaction time, ph, the applied voltage, and the distancebetween the electrodes on the degradation of solution were investigated. the maximum pcp removalwas obtained at a distance of 3 cm, a ph of 3, a voltage of 24 volt, and the treatment time of 40 min.this study demonstrated that the distance between the electrodes, ph, the applied voltage, and thetreatment time have significant effects on the electron-fenton process and this process is suitable forthe treatment of pcp-polluted waste waters.

Background and Objectives: Ciprofloxacin is an emerging and degradable pollutant that cannot be efficiently removed by common water and wastewater treatment processes. Electro-Fenton process is one of the most effective processes for the treatment of these compounds. Hence, the present study aimed to remove ciprofloxacin by Electro-Fenton method with heterogeneous catalysts, Fe+2 and Fe+3. Mat...
متن کاملEffect of UV light on pentachlorophenol removal in the electro-Fenton process
Background: This research studied the effect of UV light on pentachlorophenol (PCP) removal in the electro-Fenton (EF) process. Methods: PCP was used as the pollutant in this study. The effects of Fenton’s reagent, i.e. hydrogen peroxide concentration, solution pH, and treatment time by EF (EF) and photoelectro-Fenton (PEF) processes, were studied to determine rates of PCP removal. The r...

Diazinon pesticide and its metabolites have been identified in aquatic systems worldwide. It was related to toxicity for aquatic organisms, animals, and humans. Waters contaminated with such persistent insecticides should be treated with suitable treatment processes. In this research, Diazinon removal from aqueous solutions by the photo–Fenton–like process (UV/H2O2/Fe...
